Book Review: Relentless: From Good to Great to Unstoppable by Tim Grover

Relentless by Tim Grover can be summed up in one word: instincts. Grover is an athlete/trainer who has taken skilled and talented athletes and pushed them beyond the levels they could imagine. Grover strengthened their bodies and increased their mental tenacity for dominance.

Grover encourages his clients to follow their instincts and be fearless, courageous, and unstoppable—always believing in their limitless possibilities. He tells us that instincts guide them to make the right decisions at the right time, resulting in victory.

Grover’s insights and leadership have helped Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and Dwayne Wade. These NBA players, coached by Grover, reconnected with their instincts and became triumphant again and again. He trained them to unblock their hunger and drive to win and this propelled them to be excellent players winning multiple championships.

As an athletic trainer, he says anyone can connect to their instincts and achieve mastery of their life.

Read Relentless when you are ready to trust your gut, let your instincts be your guide, and go beyond the possibilities to achieve the seemingly impossible and countless victories.

Tim S. Grover, CEO of Attack Athletics, travels the world speaking, consulting, and training the best athletes to be even better. He also offers his principles of mental toughness and dominance to coaches and business leaders.

Five Keys to Access Your Assets

Do you achieve the goals that you set out to achieve? Take some personal inventory. What are your beliefs, and what are you thinking about all day? What we pay attention to is what flourishes in our lives. If what you are receiving is not what you want in your life, it is time to make a change. Become acquainted with yourself and take ownership of your life. Change your future and your circumstances. Ignite your fire within and gain access to the tools to change your life; thoughts and beliefs are what help you to achieve the manifestation of success, good health, wellbeing, joy, peace of mind, and experience miracles. Here are five keys to access your assets and manifest your desires:

  • Meditation is the key to connect the mind to the soul.
  • Visualization is the key to activate the video within your minds’ eye; view your desire in vivid images.
  • Prayer is the key to communicate; build a relationship with your Creator.
  • Intuition is the key to your inner whisper: a feeling, a hunch or an instinct.
  • Affirmation is the key that confirms that your goal is achievable.

I invite you to share how you will incorporate these five keys into your daily life to achieve your desires.

Move That Mountain!

moving mountains background-1

Having trouble Moving that Mountain?

When travelling down life’s road we encounter mountains along the way.  At times life’s unexpected roadblocks can shatter your hopes, dreams and self-esteem. The mountains seem almost unbearable to climb, but don’t give up! Move that mountain!

Moving mountains  inflate the lifeless, surge victory into the hands of the victim, instill the hopeless dreamers with beautiful visions of the future, calm the joyless refugees, comfort the loveless wanderers, smile upon the faithless wishers,  guide the aimless wanders, awaken the dreamless panderers, and  add flavor and color to the Plane Jane vanilla ordinaries.

Please share with us, the keys you use to move your mountain….

Maya Angelou

Her own poem befits my feelings of her loss.
Phenomenal Woman

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I’m telling lies.
I say,
It’s in the reach of my arms,
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I’m a woman
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It’s the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I’m a woman

Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can’t touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them,
They say they still can’t see.
I say,
It’s in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I’m a woman
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Now you understand
Just why my head’s not bowed.
I don’t shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing,
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It’s in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need for my care.
’Cause I’m a woman
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

New Book Release!

A new book has just been released, in which I am a featured author! When God Makes Lemonade: True Stories that Amaze & Encourage created by Don Jacobson provides 68 stories from various authors where God enacted miracles in impossible situations.

Pick up a copy of When God Makes Lemonade through Amazon or Barnes & Noble, and look for my contribution “Penniless but Not Broke.”

Luke 18:27 Jesus replied, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”

I am so elated …

I am so elated as I attend the university. I am enthralled with the classes, the professors, the classmates, the resources and staff. Now, I have been to school many years of my life, and I’ve received certificates, diplomas, and two degrees, yet this is the best time of my life attending school.

I am attending for knowledge—no degrees, no diplomas, and no certifications. I am auditing classes. The professors have no obligation to me and I have none to them. Neither the professors nor the students have to allow me to participate in their class, yet thus far the professors I have encountered have been quite accommodating. They answer all my questions, give me feedback on the assignments I hand in and they encourage me to take more classes. I love it!

talk to me…tell me about your lifelong learning experiences

I finally finished writing my first book, Angels in Action, my personal  account of 12 situations my angels resolved. Between the numerous revisions, formatting, retelling the stories, and starting other projects, it took about ten years to complete this book. Needless, to say I am proud of this book.  I can see how much I’ve learned to let go of control and tap into my inner power for guidance. This book Angels in Action displays inner power in every story as I narrate personal accounts of living my life.

Talk to me….have you been visited by any angels lately, or perphaps you were the angel who made the visit.

Develop Success Habits

Three keys to develop success habits: set measurable goals with benefits, join a mastermind group, and “discover your inner winner.”

  • Set measurable goals with benefits: when setting a goal, remember goals solve problems; and you want to alleviate your problems in a timely manner.  State your goal and then have a time line about it for instance, I am a slow reader; whenever, I read I must stop to look up unfamiliar words. My goal is to increase my reading speed by 50 words per minute by July 14, 2011.  My benefit is to increase my reading speed, so I can read two books (250 pages) per month.
  • Mastermind Group: Now that you have set your goals and mapped out your plans, you are motivated.  Immediately, you begin to work your plans, but somewhere along the way, you become distracted and begin to drift.  It feels as if you are not going to make it; the work, the sacrifice, and the commitment are not enough.  Hold on, there is help; buckle down and re-evaluate the benefits for overcoming this problem; and decide whether this is what you really want.  If your answer is yes, create and or build a mastermind group. It will keep you motivated and focused, because the members will hold you accountable for the path you are on to the accomplishment of your success.
  • Discover your inner winner; it builds your self-esteem. I suggest you use meditation or some other technique to probe deep within you to make certain that you have mapped out reachable goals with benefits. Working from the inside out helps to strengthen your instincts and your inner life guide. As you achieve your goals, you trust yourself even more; and there is only one thing left to do—achieve another goal.
